GBS – The kidney is one of the organs that are prone to damage. Especially if we adopt an unhealthy lifestyle. Unfortunately, many people still do this, thereby increasing the workload of this organ. This can trigger the arrival of a dangerous disease.

Various unhealthy habits for the kidneys

Health experts say that kidneys that have begun to be damaged or affected by the disease will not be able to function correctly. This, of course, will make various kinds of toxins in the body accumulate more and eventually harm the overall health condition of the body.

Here are various unhealthy habits that can harm our kidneys.

Often eat foods high in salt.

Foods with a high salt content can not only be found in dishes made by ourselves or in places to eat. In reality, there are lots of packaged foods that are also high in salt, such as chips, biscuits, and others. Unfortunately, we don't realize it because it's not necessarily salty.

Not only can it increase blood pressure. Foods high in salt can also burden the kidneys and eventually significantly reduce their function. Health expert James Simon from the Cleveland Clinic said that the hobby of consuming foods high in salt could trigger an increased risk of developing kidney stones.

In order to maintain our body condition, health experts advise us to limit salt intake to a maximum of 2,300 mg every day.

1. Lazy to check blood pressure regularly

Blood pressure has a major influence on the overall condition of the kidneys. If we experience the problem of high blood pressure that is uncontrollable, then this can trigger damage to the blood vessels in the kidneys and eventually damage this organ. The problem is that many people don't even realize they have high blood pressure because they never have it checked.

Make sure to regularly check your blood pressure at least twice a year to find out the condition of your blood pressure and adopt a healthy lifestyle to maintain balance.

2. Still smoking

Cigarettes can have a huge health impact on almost all parts and organs of the body. This is due to its ability to trigger an increase in blood pressure and damage blood vessels, including those in the kidneys. A study proves that the hobby of smoking for up to 16 years can increase the risk of kidney cancer by up to 40 percent!

3. Drink less

Not only will it cause thirst or dehydration, but not drinking enough can also increase the risk of kidney damage significantly. This is caused by the kidneys having to work harder to filter blood which is much thicker due to an imbalance in body fluids. This is what then ultimately reduces its function significantly.

4. Anyone taking drugs

Carelessly taking painkillers without paying attention to the dosage or doctor's advice can trigger kidney damage. Long-term consumption of drugs without a doctor's supervision can also cause the same thing. This is caused by the kidneys having to work hard to process these drugs so that they are ultimately susceptible to damage.

4. Lack of sleep

Lack of sleep will make the kidneys more tense and do not get enough rest. This can eventually impact the damage to this organ significantly.

5. Hobby consuming alcohol

Not only can it cause damage or disease to the liver, the hobby of consuming alcoholic beverages can increase the risk of developing chronic kidney disease up to two times!
