From Underdog to Undefeated - Anthony Robles

GBS - Anthony Robles is a one-legged wrestler with the nickname "unstoppable". He has become an inspiration to the world for his achievements and persistence to rise above physical limitations.

Anthony was born on July 20, 1988 in the United States. Anthony was born with a physical disability without a right leg. Even though his physical limitations did not make him feel inferior and give up, it made him stronger and more accomplished.

It is not known for sure what caused Anthony's deformed legs at birth. To be able to walk, Anthony's parents bought him a cane and prosthetic legs. Accustomed to using a cane as a walking aid, Anthony's hands have greater strength than other children his age.

Since the age of seven, Anthony has been able to do push-ups and lift his body well 10 times or more. If there is an arm wrestling match in his class, it is certain that Anthony will win. Anthony is very interested in the world of sports so that his daily life is spent on physical training and hand strength.

He firmly believed that God gave him physical limitations not without reason, but to be able to survive and make the best use of time to make achievements in this life. At the age of 14, Anthony decided to enter the world of wrestling even though many people doubted his abilities and physical strength.

Thanks to his strong will and parental support, Anthony was able to live it well. Anthony's strong hands and intelligence in fighting at school and campus earned glorious achievements, with physical limitations but he was able to beat his opponents who were big and had normal physiques.

Thanks to this achievement, Anthony finally pocketed a ticket to enter Arizona State University. During his studies at university, Anthony made many achievements in the field of wrestling, both on campus and in general championships. The most amazing and amazing achievement that inspired the most was when he joined the NCAA Championship against Matt McDonough, a professional wrestler with 0-30 (undefeated) in 2011.

Thanks to his ingenuity and hard work, Anthony won the match with a score of 7-1, on the other hand, Matt was so disappointed at the defeat that he ran from the arena because of embarrassment.

The family and spectators were so moved and incredibly proud when they won the match. Anthony as a wrestler inspires due to his persistence and hard work, so he is nicknamed the "unstoppable" wrestler. To record history and inspire others Anthony wrote a book "From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became a Champion".

The championships and achievements that Anthony has made include in 2006 placing sixth at the FILA Junior World Championships in the 55 kg Free Style Wrestling category. In 2007-2008 he started his career in the university wrestling world where he studied.

In 2008-2009 Anthony received an All American Honor medal, became the overall champion at the 10th Pacific Conference Championship, ranked fourth in the NCAA Championship. In 2009-2010 he was ranked seventh in the NCAA at 125 pounds. In 2010-2011 Anthony became the World Champion "Most Outstanding Wrestler" against Matt McDonough.
